Now, we’re getting personal. Sometimes life is just…you know…life. It can get exhausting. I’ve written down a list of things that I always go over when I feel angry, tired, or disgusted with myself, and my self-confidence is close to hitting that big fat zero. (sorry for the bad handwriting)
Whenever life gets a tad too much – this is my personal list of things I know will make me happy and function the best. This list makes me the best version of myself.
Ask yourself questions
When feeling down, I will also ask myself a series of questions, such as:
Am I angry or just hungry?
Am I restless or just hungry?
(You’d be surprised how often my answer will be that I’m hungry.)
Am I ugly, or should I try and wear something other than sweatpants and actually dress up for a change? It’s tough, but my self-confidence goes through the roof by doing this. Sometimes putting on some jewelry is enough.
Am I disgusting, or do I just need a shower?
Why am I unhappy? Does my life suck, or do I need to go exercise? Working out is not for everyone, but it has always worked for me. Whenever I experience what I call the dark days, it’s often because I’ve stopped exercising.
It’s kind of insane how often simple things can cure big things. At least for me, it is.
Go ahead and make your own list.
